Hospital 02:50
pay to play dead daydream for days on end turning in my mind getting through the night running on empty thoughts are wild is it even possible, you’ve got me confused with somebody else? sitting in a hospital and then I get this strange obsession feeling restless beg the question eating me alive hang on tight we’re losing it falling down and then up again try to let it slide trying to get by I tried I tried I try is it even possible, you’ve got me confused I’m somebody else? living in a hospital and then I get these strangest feelings tangled meaning I can’t see them tearing me apart lie down wake up crossing our sabres swords are drawn standing off allez! and now we’re left with the strangest remnants bits & pieces I can’t believe it

shaking since yesterday shaking from memory it’s an acquired taste when all the world’s a stage nearly getting better not like you remember and it seems a little cheap not even by accident of falling asleep hanging on to forgotten words and throw up the barricades looking for an answer waiting on the rapture and it feels a little strange it’s a pretentious mess of existential dread all the passion in the world unravelling for you I think of all the tricks I’d pull and hoops I would jump through hanging ‘round the edge of town a lovely little schism talk a little trash and then it’s on to bedlam the strangers in your head more of less again giving up the ghost until we break uneasy like Sunday morning oh dear you gotta believe me I tried to warn you burning all the bridges mayhem is the message and it feels a little strange it’s a pretentious mess of existential dread all the passion in the world unravelling for you I think of all the tricks I’d pull and hoops I would jump through

about

Over the years we have done a lot of stupid shit that if not for our privilege would have put us in jail or worse. Nearly 500 aboriginal deaths in custody since 2008, including 88 in 2020–21 in alone, is completely unacceptable and breaks our heart. Change is imperative.

We have a small voice but we can use it for what is right. Any purchases made on our Bandcamp page from Jun 19th will be split between Change The Record and Black Rainbow. Change The Record works to address the root causes of Indigenous incarceration and works to prevent imprisonment. Black Rainbow advocates for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander LGBQTI communities.

In addition to our ever-growing back catalogue (which can be yours for only $1.38), we have a couple new tracks to entice you to give us your money: We kick things off with a Bandcamp-exclusive cover of Craig Wedren's "I Am A Wolf, You Are The Moon", which we first came across thanks to "Wet Hot American Summer". Our ears were pricked and once we started digging deeper into the song and the man behind it (his role as frontman of Shudder To Think along to his work on the Velvet Goldmine soundtrack were enough to seal the deal for us) we just had to plunge in and give it our best shot.

"Hospital" is a brand new song we saved especially for this release and we are quite fond of it, and we were exceptionally lucky to work with producer Jackson Barclay on these two tracks for some of the biggest sounds we have captured in a long while.

We round things out with a stripped back version of "Pretentious Mess", with a reminder that "the mayhem is the message".

If you’re not that into RC we recommend checking out the roster over at Dero Arcade, who are also contributing proceeds to charities at this time. If you reside in the US and want to make you donation more local, head over to SIGE Records and have a look around. If you have already donated to a cause and want the tracks then by all means download away and know that we thank you and stand with you.

xoxo
